Dad is Rad

So Glad You're Mine

Have you ever had a paper collection that you just were not sure what you would use it for?
This collection was a promotion was for father's Day.  My Dad is no longer here with me so I struggled with what to do.  Then I thought my husband is a great Dad and husband and this layout
happened.  All supplies are CTMH except the texture paste, stickers, word stickers and stencil.  I used some texture paste and also distressed the background.  The title is from the Dad is Rad stamp set and the strips of paper were also stamped with background stamps. I just love the metal embellishments (trees, binoculars, and compass). These were from my CTMH stash of older supplies.  I really enjoyed working with the texture paste on the background.  You should give it a try.

I'm so excited.... Texture paste is coming to Close to my Heart in the
new Seasonal Expressions this September!

Postcard Perfect

The Adventure Begins

My husband and I have a Gold Wing trike motorcycle.  Riding it is my "relaxation" go to these days.
Every year we try to take a "big" trip with some friends of ours.  This trip was to the Florida Keys.  When this paper collection came out (Postcard Perfect) I knew it was made for documenting this trip.
I used cricut cuts for my title, flowers and my embellishments. I also used a older stamp set for the motorcycle and wings behind the flower at the top left of the layout.  It was cold when we left but the Keys were beautiful. I have lots of pictures to scrapbook and lucky for me lots of this paper.

If you have pictures that are perfect for this paper pack, there is some still available on my
web site. Check the going soon tab under shop.

CHALLENGE and GIVEAWAY:

Live Beautifully

Love

I just love to try different techniques.  With these two pages I used the cut  out letter "LOVE"
on the top page, then I used the paper that I cut the "LOVE" from.  I backed the negative space
behind the letters with different  papers. I added some angle cuts to the top and bottom with the gold dot paper in the "Live Beautifully" kit, fussy cut some flowers and water colored the large ones. Stamped some hearts, added some splatters with Juniper ink and added a tag at the top of my picture. I love how it turned out so soft and it compliments this picture of my Mom so well.

On the second page I used the cut out letters and backed them with some of my favorite papers.  I also added two strips of angled paper at the top and a black one on the bottom. I used a couple of doilies behind my pictures, some gold sequins, splatters, and fussy cut flowers from the paper collection. The title is from CTMH sticker pack and so are the gold hearts.  The word stickers and tissue paper are from my stash.  My journaling is a poem about sisters that I printed from my computer. These pictures are of my daughters when they were small and then as teenagers.
They were best of friends! (until the teenage years) I love how both of these pages turned out.

Falling for You

Thankful Heart

I love Autumn!  The colors, the weather, the smells in the air, the crisp fell of the mornings and the chill at night. Perfect for a campfire!
I know all you Granny's, Maw Maw's, Nana's or whatever your grandkids call you,
just love spending time with them.  They are the perfect decorations to your life.
I am a Nana and my grandkids have taught  me so much. Everyday I count my blessings
that they are in my life.  They grow so fast, so enjoy them every time you get the chance.
We usually do lots of outdoor things in the Fall. Pumpkin patch, corn maze, football, hikes and cookouts.
I made these pages with the "Falling for You" paper collection (one of my favorite).  Lots of Cricut cuts on my page. Used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge for most of the cuts. Added some brown splatters, enamel dots, CTMH accessories and added my journaling on a leaf.
Don't forget to count your blessing everyday, spend time with the people you love,
learn something new from your grandkids, (maybe how to take a selfie)

Nicknames

Mal Child

My youngest granddaughter at 13.... teenage years coming up.  Mallory is such a beautiful child full of energy and mostly happy (for now).  Her sister gave her the nickname Mal Child . Just had to do this page to share her "sassy" picture. Selfie...selfie....and more selfies!

I wanted to try some mixed media for the backgound. I used CTMH white daisy card stock, added some white gesso and then used the package technique with CTMH inks. Just smooched them on.  added some black splatters and all done with the background, l Love how it turned out.
Added some "scrap papers" from my stash, some doilies, CTMH complements, and accessories, a little stamping and it's all done.

Can't wait to see how this lovely lady will grow and changes over the next few years!

Redneck Gardening

My Garden

At our new house, we have so many wild critters that we can't have a garden.  So I garden in pots, stumps and hanging baskets in trees. Our watering routine included loading water jugs on the back of my husbands truck. (of course Loki had to Help)  My hubby would backup under the pots and I would water the plants.  We called it the redneck garden!  Of course I had to scrap it, sure the grandkids will get a laugh out of this long after we are gone.
All products are CTMH except the title stickers. Lots of fussy cutting the flowers,
some stamps, some gesso and some distressing, gold splatters and enamel dots.
I also added some butterflies and a bird from my stash. I loved making this page
and telling my story.
I really enjoyed my cucumbers and tomatoes. The flowers in the stump were beautiful buy the end of the season.  Tell us, in comments below if you have a garden and what is your favorite thing
to eat from your garden.

How Happy are You

My youngest granddaughter is happy most of the time. She had been trying to get this kick/jump of clicking her heals just right.  This day we were just hanging out and I was luck enough to capture this picture.  Wish  I had got the picture of the expression on her face when she finally did it!
So of course I had to make this page.  Used some old Close to my Heart supplies and my cricut to cut out the clouds.  Just added some embellishments  and our memories of that day are preserved for her grandchildren.  I love telling everyday stories, they are what make up our lives.
